Lullfabric: Sleep

Lullfabric: Sleep plays warm music that slows, thins and fades as you fall asleep. It is composed fresh every night by a generative engine, so no two nights are the same. Here is how to get the most from it, and how to reach me.

Getting started

  1. 1 Put it where you sleep. A bedside speaker is ideal, but headphones or the phone speaker are fine. The mix adjusts to whichever you use.
  2. 2 Choose a mode. Wind-down fades to silence as you drift off. All-night holds a quiet presence until morning.
  3. 3 Choose a length. Twenty, thirty or forty-five minutes for wind-down. Six, seven or eight hours for all-night.
  4. 4 Begin to drift. Lock the phone and put it face down. The descent carries on without you watching it.
  5. 5 Leave it plugged in. An all-night session runs for hours, so charge it overnight if you can.

Questions people ask

Will it stop on its own?

Yes. Both modes end with a slow fade rather than a sudden stop, at the end of the length you chose. You never have to come back and turn it off.

Does it keep playing with the phone locked?

Yes. Lock the screen and it carries on. If you do reach for it in the night, the controls are on the lock screen.

Which mode should I choose?

If you usually fall asleep within half an hour, wind-down is enough. If you wake in the night, or you live somewhere noisy, all-night gives you a steady floor to sleep through.

What is the floor in all-night mode?

After the first forty minutes or so the music descends to a barely-there level and stays there. It is quiet enough to sleep through, and steady enough to soften a door closing or a car outside.

Do I need headphones?

No. Sleep is tuned for a bedside speaker first. The mix has its own profile for headphones, a smart speaker and the phone speaker, and switches when you connect something.

Can I change the room mid-night?

Yes. Switch between the presets whenever you like and the music moves across without stopping.

Will the screen keep me awake?

No. The screen dims to almost nothing once a session is running, and everything except the timer fades out until you tap.

Does it track my sleep?

No. Sleep records nothing about when you slept, how long, or how well. There is no score in the morning.

Does Lullfabric collect my data?

No. No accounts, no tracking, no analytics, no network connections. Everything stays on your device. See the privacy policy.
